Introduction

The FINTECH ASSOCIATION OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO (hereinafter referred to as ‘FinTechTT’ is a NON-PROFIT COMPANY INCORPORATED OR CONTINUED UNDER THE COMPANIES ACT, 1995 registered in Trinidad and Tobago.

1 - Purpose of our Website

Our website (www.fintechtt.com) is our main point of interaction between members, partners and general users. We aim to provide relevant information relating to the FinTech industry and other similar content pertaining to Digital Transformation via this space. As such, depending on the information needed, we may need to collect additional data/information from our users.

2 - General Use on the Website

Visitors to the FinTechTT website can browse freely and the site does not generally require or collect any data. However, should a visitor be asked to submit data, e.g. member registration, and the visitor provides the requested information and any personal information, the FinTechTT guarantees that the information will only be used to support the activity/event for which the information was requested and will not be shared with any other party without your consent.

3 - Personal Information

‘Personal Information’ is defined under the privacy laws of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago as identifiable information about an individual. We may record and store personal information which you have provided. We are committed to protecting your data and will take all reasonable steps to keep your personal information secure and prevent unauthorized disclosure. We will also endeavor to keep your personal information accurate and up-to-date. However, we do not promise that your personal information cannot be accessed by an unauthorized person (e.g. a hacker) or that unauthorized disclosures will not occur.

We may collect your data and personal information :
  • to verify your identity;
  • to process your membership application or renewal;
  • to send you information, newsletters and other materials about us and event invitations both in print and in electronic form;
  • to gather data and prepare reports on our operations;
  • to process billing and payment, to determine amounts outstanding, and, if necessary, to collect outstanding payments;
  • to communicate with you regarding your membership; and
  • to make such disclosures as required by applicable laws.

  • 4 - Site Management

    The FinTechTT website is maintained by a trusted website service provider. Any unauthorized access to this website will be monitored by the provider and the Board and Management of the FinTechTT will be notified as needed. The website is updated by the FinTechTT communication team only, with information that is approved by the Management and Board of Directors of FinTechTT. Users can only upload information to the site as directed by the FinTechTT at their own risk.

  • 1. Third Party Links
  • We may at times provide links to third party web sites on the website. The FinTechTT is not responsible for the content or privacy policies or for the way in which information about the users on third party websites is treated.  If visitors decide to access any of the third party sites, they do so at their own risk.

  • 2. Media
  • Visitors to the website can download and extract any images or videos on the website but may not re-create without consent from the FinTechTT.

  • 3. Cookies
  • Cookies may be used to improve how we interact with you. We will inform you on the types of cookies we are using, how we are using them, and how users can control the way cookies are managed on their devices.

  • 4. Forms
  • Users who complete forms may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

  • 5. Retaining Your Data
  • Personal information provided by users will be kept for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which the Personal Information was collected. Personal Information which is no longer required will be destroyed. Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

    5 - Email

    If you wish to contact us regarding an issue/and or provide feedback via electronic mail to info@fintechtt.com, the message will usually contain your return e-mail address. Where the FinTechTT sends a notice, document or Electronic Record electronically to an electronic mail (e-mail) address designated by the addressee for receipt of electronic communication from the FinTechTT, the addressee shall be deemed to have acknowledged receipt thereof, and the FinTechTT shall be deemed to have received such acknowledgment, at the time of sending.

    If you include personal information in your e-mail, we may use that information in contacting our partners in connection with your feedback. Also, e-mail is not 100% secure against interception. If your communication is very sensitive, or includes personal information you may prefer to drop off in person or mail it to the address below and we will aim to respond within a timely manner:

    6 - You Rights on Your Data

    Where a member receives an Electronic Record from the FinTechTT, the member may request that the FinTechTT send him the content of the Electronic Record in hard copy form. The FinTechTT shall send the hard copy form to the member within twenty-one (21) days of receiving the request.

    7 - Privacy Statement Updates

    Changes and updates to this Privacy Statement will be posted on this page, and therefore you should review it regularly.
