Not Enough Public Awareness of FinTech

A proper public education campaign for citizens would be necessary for advancing toward a cashless economy. FinTech Association of Trinidad and Tobago president Maria Daniel indicated that there is not enough public awareness, noting that many people still do not know what fintech is.
The article highlights the gap between the rapid advancement of financial technology solutions and the general public's understanding of these tools. While fintech has the potential to transform how citizens access and use financial services, adoption remains limited without broader awareness.
Daniel emphasised that education must be a cornerstone of the fintech ecosystem's growth strategy. Without understanding what fintech is and how it can benefit their daily lives, citizens are unlikely to embrace the digital financial solutions being developed by local and international companies.
